History

The name Hochgurt has stood for quality and freshness since 1948


Wilhelm and Wilhelmine Hochgurtel start trading in potatoes, fruit and vegetables. In 1964, deliveries were also made to bakeries and confectioneries.

In 1970, Hans Hochgurtel joined his parents' business. A short time later, the company Wilhelm Hochgurt und Sohn OHG was founded, which dealt with the import and sale of strawberries and the wholesale of fruit and vegetables.

A milestone in the company's history began in 1974 with the establishment of the import business from Mexico and the USA.
1974 is also the founding year of Wilhelm Hochgurt & Sohn GmbH, which in 1982 takes over the shares of the partners Amfoco, Braun and 2 years later also the shares of the partner Comarket.
The Hochgurt company now supplies customers throughout Germany.
In 1988, the new company premises on Drachenburgstraße in Bonn were built and Wilhelm Hochgurt & Sohn GmbH became Fruchthof Hochgurt GmbH.

The in-house processing of fruit begins in 1990 and entails the founding of the production company Fruchtveredelungsgesellschaft mbH with the shareholders Wilhelm Hochgurt & Sohn OHG and Jochen Stephan (Vita Gemüse).

When Marco Hochgurtel joined the company in 1996, it was transformed into Wilhelm Hochgurtel und Sohn KG. Shareholders are Hans Hochgurt as general partner and Wilhelm and Marco Hochgurt as limited partners.
After the death of Wilhelm and Wilhelmine Hochgurtel (1999 and 2000), Hans Hochgurtel took over his parents' shares.

At the beginning of the new millennium takes over
After successfully completing his degree in international business administration, Marco Hochgurte took up the position of Managing Director of Fruchthof Hochgurtel GmbH.

In 2003, the Hochgurtel company developed the patented laying system for cakes with different types of fruit.
In 2004 the success story of the Hochgurt company continued with the production of salads and vegetables for the convenience sector and is constantly being expanded.
The production area and warehousing have also been increased in favor of freshness and logistical efficiency.
